I am born 1st of April 1992 in Bergen, Norway. I´m a full-time decathlete and my goal among other is to participate in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

 

Biography

Decathlete Martin Roe:

I started my career at the age of 6 years, where I was introduced to athletics. In the beginning the training was at a low level, but it happened to be the beginning of not only a hobby but a complete lifestyle. During the years I developed and showed more and more talent for most of the track and field events and therefore I decided to become a decathlete with great success. The first 15 years of my life I trained in Bergen, Norway with my personal trainer and mother Ingunn Gatland Jacobsen and assistant trainer and father Geir Roe.

 

I have participatied in serverel big competicions during the years of my career already:

 

• Gold Medal 2009: Iceland, Nordic Combined Event Championships.

• 11th place 2009: Italy, World Youth Championships.

• Bronze Medal 2010: Denmark, Nordic Combined Event Championships.

• 13th place 2010: Canada, World Junior Championships.

• Gold Medal 2011: Finland, Nordic Combined Event Championships.

• 7th place 2011: Estonia, European Junior Championships.

• Silver Medal 2012: Norway, Nordic Combined Event Championships.

• Gold Medal 2012: Norway, Norwegian Combined Event Championships.

• Silver Medal 2013: Norway, Norwegian Combined Event Championships.

• Bronze Medal 2013: Portugal, European Combined Event Team Chapionships.

• Team Gold Medal 2013: Portugal, Second League, European Combined Event Teams.

• 12th place 2013: Finland, European U23 Championships.

• Gold Madal 2015: Norwegian Combined Event Championship.

• 1. place and Best Performance at European Combined Event Team Championships 2015

 

I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, after finishing the season 2013. I signed a contract with Denmarks biggest Track and Field Club SPARTA, where i will keep on chasing my next goals.
